Ah, Macavity. Every story has its villain and here he is. Sometimes I call him Big Mac for short (or is that Mark McGwire?) Anyhoo... he's outwardly repectable, but everyone knows he cheats at cards. In other words: he's a very bad kitty :) One problem - no one seems to be able to prove it. He's the bafflement of Scotland yard, the Flying Squad's despair. Old Macavity is just too clever for all of them. He's wanted for everything and he's never been caught. To the Jellicles he's known as the Mystery Cat - he's always comitting crimes, but whenever they're discovered, he's miles away.

One thing is certain - Demeter will be sure to let the others know whenever he's near (talk about paranoia. Tell me about it. Sheesh :) Some people say there used to be a "thing" between Demeter and the Hidden Paw (as Mackie is also known), but the truth is, no one's quite sure about Macavity's past.

He does have his own song, however, in which Bombalurina and Demeter explain his evil ways to the kittens, who sit listening, enthralled (oh how sweet). But no matter how you look at it, the fact remains: Macavity truly is THE NAPOLEON OF CRIME!
